DTC C0051:95 [START STOP UNIT]



Description

Steering angle sensor assembly malfunction

Detection condition

  • Start stop unit receives the following signals with the ignition switched ON (engine off or on).

    • Steering angle sensor assembly malfunction from EPS control module for 1 s or more

    • Improper assembly of steering angle sensor at 360°

    • Steering wheel angle of 720° or more for 0.048 s or more

Fail-safe function

Not applicable

Possible cause

  • DTCs are stored in the EPS control module.

  • Improper assembly of steering angle sensor

  • Start stop unit malfunction

VERIFY EPS CONTROL MODULE DTCs

Yes

Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

(See ELECTRIC POWER STEERING (EPS) ON-BOARD DIAGNOSIS.)

No

Go to the next step.

2

VERIFY STEERING ANGLE SENSOR INSTALLATION CONDITION

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Install the steering angle sensor correctly, then go to the next step.

VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED

Yes

Repeat the inspection from Step 1.

Go to the next step.

No

Go to the next step.

VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED
  • Are any other DTCs displayed?

Yes

Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

No

DTC troubleshooting completed.
